STEM at Home — Egg Drop Challenge Kit (Physics & Engineering Design)
Can you build a capsule that protects a raw egg from a 10-foot drop? The EdTech Academy Egg Drop Challenge Kit gives students everything they need to engineer, test, and improve a protective structure using real physics principles.
Students explore impact force, impulse, momentum, and material properties as they design a capsule that absorbs the shock of impact and protects their egg. Two full sets of materials are included so students can build, test, redesign, and test again — the engineering design process in action.
What's in the kit:
- Bubble wrap (2 sheets)
- Foam sheet (1 piece)
- Plastic zip bags (4 bags)
- Rubber bands (10 assorted)
- Cardboard strips (6 pieces)
- Masking tape (1 roll)
- Cotton balls (10)
- Popsicle sticks (10)
- Instruction card with lesson overview
Not included (supplied by student at home): 1 raw egg, scissors
