Can your tower survive the shake test? In this engineering design challenge, students use spaghetti, marshmallows, tape, and index cards to build the tallest, most stable structure they can — then test it by simulating an earthquake. They'll learn about structural engineering, compression and tension forces, and iterative design: build, test, improve, repeat. A classic STEM challenge that never gets old.
